Understand what Pulse means
A pulse is the beating of blood through arteries in our body after being pumped out of the heart. In modern medicine, doctors are able to measure one's heart rate by measuring their pulse. However, the burning question today is what can your pulse give a measure of something deeper, something other than how many times a minute your heart beats?
As always, Ayurved has an answer. The ancient Ayurvedic technique of pulse diagnosis, or Nadi Pariksha, is the only method by which practitioners have correctly diagnosed diseases or illnesses for years. The non-invasive Ayurvedic treatment detects the current state of a person's body, mind, spirit, and soul, and helps to reach the root cause of an illness- an imbalance of the three biological senses of humor or doshas. One this is diagnosed, the doctor can suggest an Ayurvedic product, which can be bought online.
How do you examine your Nadi (pulse)?
As the diagnosis of the disease is largely based on Nadi examination, it is important to detect the patterns of blood spurts from the heart in the correct way. This radial pulse can be taken from both wrists when the patient is closest to his normal resting position and must be felt by the index, middle and ring fingers.
The index finger: This finger represents the Vata Dosha. When a pulse is felt strongly under this finger, it is evident that the Vata Dosha is dominant. The characteristic of this pulse is thin and irregular, like the movement of a serpent.
The middle finger: This finger represents the Pitta Dosha. When a pulse is felt strongly under this finger, it is evident that the Pitta Dosha is dominant. The characteristic of this pulse is active and excited, like the jumping of a frog.
The ring finger: This finger represents the Kapha Dosha. When a pulse is felt strongly under this finger, it is evident that the Kapha Dosha is dominant. The characteristic of this pulse is strong, like the movement of a floating swan.
Pulse after Diagnosis:
If the pulse in any of these fingers is dominant, it means that there is a biological imbalance leading to the illness one is experiencing. It is crucial to take Ayurvedic medicine to treat yourself if diagnosed with a doshic imbalance, in an effort to curb any further health problems.
