Sex after pregnancy is not wrong or unhealthy if you are in the right frame of mind. But, it is surely difficult to get going again, as it takes time and energy. You need to be very cautious too! We are not trying to scare you about post-pregnancy sex, but certain precautions are just imperative in the post-pregnancy period. Otherwise, sex can be a good way to release stress and also increase intimacy between you and your partner. After all, life has to come back to normal! Here are some tips to improve post-pregnancy sex:
1. Go Slow
Remember that it's only been a few months since the last time you made love and now you have a baby growing inside you. No matter how much you want to, take it slow and easy the first few times so you don't hurt yourself or the baby. Your speed is now less, so enjoy slow penetration without pressure on the belly or pelvic region. Always have support! Rub your body against your partner for arousal! Your partner can go slowly and gently so you both are completely relaxed and aroused, with this way you could have the best pleasure for both partners.
2. Foreplay Helps
It helps the body prepare for intercourse. During pregnancy, the partners should learn about their own and each other's bodies, likes and dislikes in terms of foreplay. This whole sequence of foreplay can help your pregnant body prepare for the sexual act. This way, you can be aroused and relaxed while engaging in intercourse. Also, your body is much more sensitive during pregnancy. Foreplay can arouse you to the extent that intercourse may not be necessary to achieve orgasm.
3. Practice Kegel Exercises
During pregnancy and even after delivery, the muscles of the pelvic floor are in a relaxed state to allow the passage of your baby. Kegel exercises are performed to improve the tone of the pelvic floor muscles and prevent stress incontinence.
4. Get an Expert Opinion
Always rely on an expert if you feel your libido after pregnancy or delivery is lower than before. Sometimes, low libido can be a sign of hormonal changes that can occur after pregnancy or the birth of a child. Resuming sex can help bring back your sexual desire and help hormonal changes, but before resuming, take medical advice and continue to enjoy safe sex to protect your health.
5. Eat Healthy
Your post pregnancy body needs proper nutrition and healthy food. If you want to resume sex soon, it is important to eat healthy foods that help restore your body to its original shape. Plus, healthy food keeps your energy levels high and helps you have more sex drive. You can also find specialized chyawanprash for post delivery care that are specially formulated for improved lactation & recovery. It's good for your baby too! For men, they can have ayurvedic medicines to boost stamina in bed.Â
6. Use Lubricant
Lubricants can be applied to male or female sexual organs to reduce friction during intercourse and prevent vaginal soreness. Soreness is common post pregnancy and delivery. Hence, vaginal lubricants are recommended for use during intercourse, especially post pregnancy.
Conclusion
Sex can be different after pregnancy, but there are many ways to make it work. Adjust to the change and don't oppose it. Romance does not have to be fast and furious; sometimes slow and steady wins the race to an amazing orgasm.
