Much before allopathy and homeopathy came an ancient Indian science called Ayurved that relied entirely on nature’s bounty for its cures. Ayurved is the traditional, time-tested science of healing with herbs, fruits and minerals that are plentifully available in nature . It is one of the oldest scientific medical systems in the world, with a long record of clinical expertise of famous Ayurvedic sages like Dhanvantri, Sushruta and Charaka, whose legacy was further carried on by Vaids or Ayurvedic doctors. The word “Ayu” denotes all aspects of life from birth to death. The word “Veda” means knowledge or learning. Hence Ayurved indicates a science by which life, in its totality, is deeply understood. At Dr. Vaidya’s, we rely on 150 years of painstaking research done by the Vaidya family that has given us our proprietary formulations.

Modern medicine treats the symptoms in the short term, rather than addressing the root cause of a patient’s suffering. Ayurved on the other hand, makes its special contributions by addressing the uniqueness of each patient and by helping each body to heal from the root cause of the ailment. All Ayurvedic medicines are natural and safe with no side effects. They can be used for children too. Certain Ayurvedic medicines do require a physician’s advice.

A large number of people look towards allopathy for a cure to an ailment. When the results are negative, they turn to Ayurved. By this time the disease becomes chronic. Therefore there is a misconception that Ayurvedic drugs cannot be used for minor ailments like cold, cough, fever, acidity, loose motions and other aches and pains. At Dr. Vaidya’s we have formulations that do treat such minor, non-chronic ailments as well.
