Migraine or Pittaj Shirashool, as it is called in Ayurveda, is a disease which affects both, mind and body. Caused due to the imbalance in Vata, Pitta or Kapha doshas, Migraines are generally indicated by intense headaches. While every migraine can occur due to numerous reasons, some of the most prominent ones are indigestion, intake of contaminated food, unhealthy eating habits, exposure to the sun for a prolonged time, alcohol consumption, smoking and/or extreme emotions amongst others. In women, it may also be caused due to changes in hormone levels.
Shardardaghna, the herbal migraine tablets, comprises of the nervine tonics, which help strengthen the entire nervous system. The analgesic action of the herbal components of this headache medicine helps reduce the pain, while also ensuring proper blood circulation. Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Jatamansi, and Shankhpushpi help address somatic and psychological complaints such as headaches and irritability. On the other hand, Shringa Bhasma’s mucolytic effect and Gaudanti Bhasma’s analgesic effect, work in conjunction with Praval Pristi to reduce headaches.
